"I always knew I’d be designing my own engagement ring and I think my fiancé Ben did too: he proposed to me in Mexico with a cheap little ring he found from a market stand on the side of the beach in San Agustinillo, which was very sweet. We made my engagement ring in my London workshop: a 2ct emerald-cut diamond set east to west, with a double-stepped rub-over and tapered baguette diamonds. It’s quite a nerdy ring because all the baguettes are hand-cut to size and channel-set. I wanted it to feel architectural and angular, but with everything sitting smooth and flush. As a jewellery designer, you interact with this stuff all day long, but designing your own ring is both special and challenging – like an architect building their own house, the decisions suddenly become much more reflective. You end up thinking carefully about what you actually want to live with. Now I just need to make the wedding bands…"
