ABOUT

Isabella Hewitt is a conceptual fine jewellery designer, offering made-to-order collection pieces and bespoke one-of-a-kind creations. With an MA in Philosophy and Law, Hewitt’s academic pursuits laid a thoughtful foundation for her creative process. Her commitment to design led her to go on to study History of Art at the University of Oxford where she focussed on Renaissance metalwork and miniaturist paintings, while simultaneously pursuing gemmology studies at the prestigious Gem-A in the evenings.

Her professional journey took flight at the renowned crown jewellers Garrard, where she mastered product development and stone sourcing. Her determination to learn every aspect of the craft saw her ultimately apprenticing under the creative director, perfecting traditional gouache design techniques.

This diverse experience, blending academic rigor with hands-on development and design, culminated in Hewitt's entrepreneurial leap. Over the last two and a half years, she designed, developed, and secured funding to launch her own fine jewellery brand.

Hewitt has designed her debut collection of sixteen pieces that resonate with her vision - jewellery that intertwines design with storytelling. Her work invites wearers to engage with their own narratives, transforming each piece into a cherished artifact of personal history.

"Wearability and quality are at the epicentre of every design in equal measure. Each piece is designed not just as a beautiful tactile heirloom, but as a lasting expression of craftsmanship."

STUDIO

Isabella’s designs are meticulously crafted in her London workshop, employing a harmonious blend of modern and traditional techniques. The studio’s design philosophy is characterised by sculptural silhouettes and abstract fluid forms - playing with volume and texture, while ensuring the jewellery contours and punctuates the body seamlessly.

"A piece that looks innovative to the viewer but feels intuitive to the wearer, that is what I’m aiming for when designing."

Isabella Hewitt’s design approach thrives on collaboration, blending influences from abstract art, furniture design, and fine art photography. Each jewellery collection becomes a narrative, merging diverse artistic perspectives into visually striking and conceptually rich work.

It’s about creating beautiful fine jewellery that persists beyond trends, supports excellent local craftsmanship, and embraces the intersection of multidisciplinary design.

PROCESS & ETHOS

Isabella Hewitt only collaborates with local British artisans, supporting the rich heritage of the UK's jewellery industry. Each piece is crafted, polished, and quality-checked by our skilled local craftsmen before returning to our local studio. We don't work with huge factories making vast quantities of pieces, every piece is intentionally made to order, here in London.

We use 100% recycled gold, which significantly helps reduce carbon emissions compared to mined metals. Our bullion is sourced from Cooksongold, a certified member of the Responsible Jewellery Council, ensuring ethical practices throughout the supply chain. All metal filings and dust are gathered and scrapped and eventually transformed into new designs.

We place huge emphasis on reworking clients' existing pieces to create new bespoke heirlooms to be treasured for many more generations, believing this to be the ultimate sustainable route in an industry that still has a long way to go in eliminating it's footprint.

Our diamonds comply with the Kimberley Process and the World Diamond Council's guidelines, sourced exclusively from our trusted RJC certified suppliers. Each diamond is meticulously chosen by Isabella ensuring its quality and authenticity.

We create timeless heirlooms designed to last generations, offering MOT services for bespoke pieces to keep them sparkling for a whole lifetime. Every collection is entirely made to order, so no superfluous pieces sitting in sample bags. We are always looking for ways to improve our business and it's practices, so that we can look to grow in a thoughtful and kind way.
